Tetra Pak® High Shear Mixer – recirculation unit for formulated dairy products
The Tetra Pak® High Shear Mixer recirculation unit – formerly known as Tetra Almix – emulsifies, hydrates powders and other ingredients and standardizes milk. With capacities from 5,000 to 40,000 l/h, this high shear mixer recirculation unit is designed primarily for formulated dairy products and is offered in the models R200-200V, R200-800V and R300-2500V.

Vacuum system that uses around 50% less water and 70% less energy than competing models
The mixer works as a closed, automated system that keeps contamination out, while deaeration can extend the shelf life of the product. Its vacuum system draws powder into the mixer automatically and removes air from the product, which reduces burn-on and cleaning downstream. At its core, the high shear head disperses, dissolves and emulsifies – it even dissolves pectin quickly. A frequency converter matches the speed of the vacuum motor to demand, a powder valve closes automatically if the vacuum is lost to prevent backflow and blockages, and load cells together with a frequency-controlled outlet pump keep the level steady even when powder input varies.
Applications: Formulated dairy products, emulsifying, hydration of powders and other ingredients and standardization of milk.
Capacity: 5,000 to 40,000 l/h.
Options: Powder funnels of 100, 250, 350 and 2,000 l (larger sizes need a platform, funnels can be placed up to 8 m from the mixer), a vacuum-driven drum emptying system that is cleaned in place together with the mixer, and embedded automation based on Tetra Pak® PlantMaster.
