Tetra Pak® High Shear Mixer – batch unit for high and low viscosity products
The Tetra Pak® High Shear Mixer batch unit mixes and emulsifies high and low viscosity products and dissolves powders – all in a single process. This high shear mixer batch unit is a flexible choice for producers who make cream cheese, beverage concentrates, soups, sauces or dressings and want one machine for many recipes.

The key element is the patented Turbo Unit, a dynamic stator that is lowered pneumatically for high shear mixing and raised for gentler blending of products with larger particles, so there is no need for several tanks. A double-shaft agitator keeps even very viscous products moving through the high shear head for a uniform result. Steam injection heats quickly and gently, while the dimple jacket on the tank heats and cools sensitive products and prevents protein burn-on. A powder valve closes immediately if the vacuum is lost, preventing backflow and blockages, and powder can be dosed automatically or manually – manual dosing lowers the investment.
Applications: Cream cheese, formulated dairy products, beverage concentrates, soups, sauces, dressings, ice cream toppings and more.
Capacity: 25 to 20,000 l/h at one to four batches per hour.
Options: Pressure vessel for heating above 100 °C and up to 150 °C (certified to the European PED or the US ASME U-stamp), flash cooling with a plate heat exchanger and vacuum system that cools soups and sauces from 90 °C to 50 °C in 6 minutes, and embedded automation based on Tetra Pak® PlantMaster.
