Tetra Pak® Aseptic Tank for intermediate storage
The Tetra Pak® Aseptic Tank for intermediate storage is a fully automated unit that holds commercially sterile liquid food between the UHT unit and the filling machines. As an aseptic buffer it decouples processing from packaging for products such as milk, yoghurt, rice pudding, goulash and sauces, and it can be installed stand-alone or as part of an integrated line.

Three versions cover different products: the LV for low to medium viscosity, a valve cluster with a vertical, dome-bottomed tank; the HV for medium to high viscosity, with a cone-shaped bottom; and the HH, a horizontal tank with a gentle agitator for low to high viscosity products with particles. Overpressure with sterile air keeps contaminants out of the tank, and a low-fouling end valve cluster reduces burnt particles and fouling in the pipes, which pays off especially with ESL products and long production runs.
Applications: Dairy, beverages and prepared food, including products with fibres and smaller particles.
Capacity: A wide range of tank sizes, with a guaranteed running time of up to 122 hours depending on the application.
Options: Top-mounted agitators (centred or off-centre) or bottom-mounted magnetic agitators, cooling jacket, high-volume tank for independent cleaning, safety rail and caged ladder.

Clean without stopping: With an intermediate steam barrier (ISB) and an optional high-volume tank, the aseptic tank can be cleaned separately from the UHT unit, so the line keeps running while the tank is cleaned.
